Shaikh Central School visited Mahesh Foundation on 10.10.2023, Tuesday, An NGO working to enrich the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS and provide shelter to orphans. Students of Class IX were happy to that Mahesh Foundation also inspire other patients to fight the disease through various initiatives. The organisation provides education, nutrition, and medical support to over 1800 needy children. They also provide shelter to about 40 orphans in Ashakiran Home at Belagavi but there is a need for a new hostel cum school to accommodate hundreds of abandoned children in the area.
Mr. Mahesh Jadhav, Founder of Mahesh Foundation interacted with students and teachers, and motivated them to achieve excellence in any domain that interests them. Shaikhians were informed about how this NGO works with civil society, the government and communities to support sustained responses to HIV children. The Alliance strengthens the vulnerable HIV-positive community by building capacity and providing them with advocacy and other forms of support. The children are provided monthly nutrition, medical, education and emotional support. Shaikh Central School team also donated grocery, accessories, clothes as a part of their contribution. Students were happy to see a person smile, and to know that contribute something for that smile, gives ultimate joy and internal satisfaction. They presented the Certificate of Appreciation to the Shaikh Central School for the social responsibility towards the needy. Students thanked Mahesh Foundation for their kind hospitality and informative interactive sessions during their visit.
